She was moved by his devotion and humility. “Your devotion has touched my heart, Dhananjay,” said the goddess, “Ask for any boon you desire.” Overwhelmed by her divine presence, Dhananjay humbly asked for enough wealth to support his family and to serve his community. Pleased by his selflessness, Lakshmi blessed him with unending wealth and prosperity. From that day onwards, Dhananjay not only lived comfortably but also used his wealth to help those in need. His story served as a reminder that sincere devotion and selfless service are rewarded with abundance by Goddess Lakshmi.
