The gods, unable to defeat him, combined their energies to create Durga, a goddess with ten arms, each carrying a weapon given by the gods. Riding a lion, Durga fought Mahishasura in a fierce battle that lasted for nine days. On the tenth day, she beheaded the demon, restoring peace and order in the universe. This story is celebrated during the festival of Navaratri, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. It serves as a powerful testament to Durga’s fearlessness and her role as a protector of righteousness.
