SHIVALOKA SACRED JEWELRY SANCTUARY

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Every Shivaloka piece is handcrafted in our own production temple in Bali and individually activated and blessed in the Divine Lineage of Sri Kaleshwar. The following terms govern purchases made at the Shivaloka Sacred Jewelry Sanctuary in Ubud and apply to every guest. Please read them before completing your purchase; by purchasing from Shivaloka, you agree to these terms.

1.  General Terms & Conditions

1.1  Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing from Shivaloka, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms in full. These terms apply alongside, and do not limit, your statutory rights under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

1.2  Pricing & Payment

  • Currency. All prices are quoted and payable in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). We accept cash (IDR), major credit and debit cards, and bank transfer.
  • Price changes. Prices may change without notice in line with the cost of precious metals, gemstones, and currency movements. The price confirmed at the point of sale is the price that applies.
  • Displayed prices. Prices displayed in the sanctuary or at partner locations are indicative and may vary due to taxes or third-party surcharges. Shivaloka reserves the right to correct pricing errors at any time before a sale is completed.
  • Currency conversion. Currency conversion rates and any foreign-exchange, card, or bank charges are determined by your own payment provider and are entirely beyond Shivaloka’s control. A difference between the IDR price and the amount charged in your home currency is not a fault, a pricing error, or grounds for a return.
  • In-person pricing. Our sanctuary prices reflect an in-person purchase at our Ubud sanctuary and do not include shipping or remote handling.

1.3  Proof of Purchase

A receipt is issued for every purchase. Please retain it. Valid proof of purchase is required for any return, exchange, store credit, warranty claim, or care service, and is one of the following:

  • the original Shivaloka receipt issued at the time of sale; or
  • where the receipt is unavailable, a copy of the card or bank statement clearly showing the transaction with Shivaloka.

Where we are unable to verify a purchase against our records or against valid proof of purchase, we are unable to process a return, exchange, or warranty claim. This protects both our guests and the integrity of our sanctuary.

1.4  Product Information & Handmade Variations

All jewellery is handcrafted in-house at our production temple in Bali. Minor variations in colour, texture, weight, and finish are inherent to handmade sacred jewellery and are a mark of authenticity, not defects.

1.5  Authenticity of Sacred Materials & Rudraksha

All Shivaloka rudraksha beads are sourced in good faith from trusted suppliers and are guaranteed authentic. Natural variations in size, shape, and surface are inherent to genuine beads and are not defects. Independent laboratory certification is not available within Indonesia; for Nepalese rudraksha, certification can be arranged on request at the time of order.

1.6  Allergies & Skin Sensitivity

Our pieces are crafted using .925 sterling silver, 18k gold plating, brass, gemstones, and natural materials. Guests with known sensitivities are warmly encouraged to inform our team before purchase. To the extent permitted by law, Shivaloka is not liable for allergic or skin reactions arising from wearing our products.

1.7  Spiritual & Wellbeing Notice

The spiritual, healing, and astrological properties described for our pieces and gemstones are drawn from traditional Vedic understanding. They are offered as sacred support and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for professional care.

1.8  Ownership & Risk

Ownership and risk pass to the guest upon payment and physical handover of the piece. To the extent permitted by law, Shivaloka is not liable for loss, theft, or damage occurring after this point.

2.  Returns & Exchanges

We want you to treasure your Shivaloka piece. Where you are not completely satisfied, the following applies within 14 calendar days of the original purchase date, and is always subject to valid proof of purchase and the return conditions below.

2.1  Change of Mind

For a change of mind, we offer an exchange or store credit for unworn pieces returned in original condition. We are unable to refund the original payment — by cash or card — for a change of mind. This allows us to honour the care and intention placed into every handcrafted piece while remaining gracious to our guests.

2.2  Exchanges

Pieces may be exchanged for items of equal or greater value, with any difference payable by the guest, subject to availability.

2.3  Store Credit

Store credit is offered as an alternative to an exchange, is valid for 12 months from the date of issue, and is redeemable at the Shivaloka Sacred Jewelry Sanctuary in Ubud. Store credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

2.4  Refunds

Refunds to the original payment method are issued only for a confirmed manufacturing defect that cannot be repaired or replaced, or where a refund is required under Indonesian law. Refunds are not offered for change of mind, currency conversion, or pieces that fall within the non-returnable categories below.

2.5  Return Conditions

  • Pieces must be returned in person at the Shivaloka sanctuary where the original purchase was made.
  • For guests who have travelled onward from Bali, we are glad to assist by post; shipping to and from the sanctuary is arranged and covered by the customer.
  • Valid proof of purchase (Section 1.3) is required for all returns, exchanges, and store-credit requests.
  • Pieces must be unworn and in original, saleable condition, with all tags attached and in their original Shivaloka packaging.
  • Shivaloka reserves the right to inspect any piece and to decline a return, exchange, or store credit where these conditions are not met or where the purchase cannot be verified.

2.6  Currency & Conversion

All sales are made in Indonesian Rupiah at the clearly displayed price. A difference arising from currency conversion or from charges applied by your payment provider is not a basis for a return, exchange, or refund.

2.7  Sacred Use — Important Notice

Once a piece has been used in meditation, prayer, or any spiritual practice, or has undergone a sacred touch ritual, it absorbs the personal energy of the wearer. For this reason, a spiritually activated piece cannot be returned, exchanged, or resold. We gently advise that such pieces remain with their owner, as they now carry your unique soul energy and intention.

2.8  Non-Returnable Items

  • Pieces used in meditation, prayer, or any form of spiritual practice, or that have undergone a sacred touch ritual.
  • Custom, bespoke, or personalised jewellery, including custom malas and jyotish (astrological) gem pieces.
  • Pieces that have been worn, altered, resized, engraved, or damaged after purchase.
  • Earrings for pierced ears, for reasons of hygiene.
  • Sale, clearance, or promotional pieces, unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
  • Gift cards and store credit.
  • Pieces purchased through third-party retailers, consignment partners, or airport locations, which are subject to the respective retailer’s policy.
  • Any purchase that cannot be verified against our records or valid proof of purchase.

2.9  Gifts

Where a piece was received as a gift, any exchange or store credit is offered to the gift recipient on presentation of valid proof of purchase, in line with the conditions above. Store credit will be issued in the recipient’s name.

2.10  Deposits & Custom Orders

All custom, bespoke, and personalised orders — including custom malas and jyotish gem pieces — require a non-refundable deposit. Once our artisans have begun production, a custom order cannot be cancelled, modified, or refunded. The final balance is due before collection or shipping. Delivery timelines are approximate and may be affected by material sourcing and artisan availability. As each custom piece is created especially for you, it is not eligible for return or exchange.

3.  Product Warranty

3.1  One-Year Limited Warranty

Shivaloka stands behind the craftsmanship of every piece with a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Valid proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

3.2  What Is Covered

  • Structural breakage arising from faulty construction.
  • Defective clasps or closures with no sign of force or impact.
  • Loose or missing stones due to a setting failure, not impact.
  • Premature discolouration of gold plating under normal conditions of wear.

3.3  What Is Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear, including minor tarnishing of silver and the gradual, natural fading of plating over time.
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, dropping or impact, improper storage, or chemical exposure (perfume, lotions, chlorine, cleaning agents) and water submersion.
  • Elastic, cord, or thread on malas and bracelets stretched or broken through regular use.
  • Natural changes in the appearance of gemstones and natural materials over time.
  • Unauthorised repairs or alterations carried out by any third party.

3.4  Making a Warranty Claim

Bring the piece, together with valid proof of purchase, to our Ubud sanctuary. Our team will inspect it and determine eligibility. Approved claims are repaired or replaced at no cost, with replacement subject to availability and possibly substituted with an equivalent design and value. Claims are typically assessed within two to five business days.

3.5  International Warranty & Shipping

Warranty and repair service is carried out at our sanctuary in Bali. Because our sanctuary prices reflect an in-person purchase and do not include shipping, the warranty does not cover postage. For guests who have travelled onward from Bali, we are glad to assist by post; shipping to and from the sanctuary is arranged and covered by the customer, and is confirmed with you before any service proceeds. International claims may be directed to our customer care team using the contact details below.

3.6  Repairs Outside Warranty

Paid repairs are available for pieces outside the warranty period or for damage not covered above. All repair and restringing services are offered exclusively for Shivaloka jewellery; we are unable to service pieces by other makers.

3.7  Sacred Completion — When a Mala Breaks

In the Vedic tradition, when a mala used in active spiritual practice breaks, it is regarded as an auspicious sign — the completion of a karmic cycle and a moment of spiritual growth. This is not a defect, but a sacred milestone. If your Shivaloka meditation mala breaks during active spiritual use, bring it to our Ubud sanctuary and we will offer a one-time complimentary Rebirth Restringing, so your mala may begin its next sacred journey. Subsequent restringing is available at standard rates. This service applies exclusively to Shivaloka meditation malas and is offered at our team’s discretion.

4.  General Provisions

4.1  Verification & Right to Refuse

Shivaloka may decline any return, exchange, store credit, or warranty claim where the purchase cannot be verified, where the return conditions are not met, or where we identify a pattern of misuse, suspected fraud, or commercial resale. These measures protect our guests, our artisans, and the sanctity of our work.

4.2  Online & Wholesale Purchases

This policy governs purchases made at the Shivaloka Sacred Jewelry Sanctuary in Ubud. Purchases made through our online store are governed by the Terms & Conditions and Exchanges & Returns Policy published at shivaloka.co. Wholesale and trade purchases are governed by the relevant supply agreement.

4.3  Third-Party, Consignment & Airport Purchases

Pieces purchased from a consignment partner, authorised retailer, or airport location are subject to that retailer’s own policy and must be returned to the original place of purchase. We are unable to verify or process returns for purchases made outside our own sanctuary.

4.4  Privacy

Personal details collected for sales, store credit, custom orders, and warranty records are held in confidence and used only to fulfil and support your purchase. They are never shared with outside parties except as required to complete your order or by law.

4.5  Amendments

Shivaloka may amend this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the date of your purchase governs that purchase.

4.6  Governing Law & Statutory Rights

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia and apply to PT Shivaloka Bali. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any non-waivable right you may have under Indonesian consumer law (Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection), including your rights in respect of goods that are defective or not as described.

4.7  Contact

For any return, exchange, warranty, or care enquiry, our customer care team is here to help.
