Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism, widely recognized as the Lord of Success and the Remover of Obstacles. He was created by Goddess Parvati using sandalwood paste to guard her door while she bathed. When Lord Shiva returned and was denied entry by Ganesha, Shiva decapitated him. Realizing his mistake, Shiva promised Parvati to bring Ganesha back to life. He instructed his followers to bring back the head of the first being they encountered sleeping with the head to the north, which happened to be an elephant. Thus, Ganesha was resurrected with an elephant’s head, and was blessed with the ability the overcome any obstacle, even death, and has since been revered as the lord who removes obstacles and paves the way for success.
